Matriculation at KAZGUU

Recently, an annual grand ceremony “Matriculation ceremony to the students of KAZGUU – Selecting Themis-2016”, one of the most anticipated events of the year for student community of the country, took place at the Central Concert Hall Kazakhstan.

While congratulating the first year students with new status, the rector of JSC KAZGUU University Talgat Narikbayev noted some achievements of the university:

– «KAZGUU continues to be a leading flagship of legal and economic education in Kazakhstan; our diplomas are recognized by foreign employers. The University has trained more than 30 thousand professional personnel since 1994. Thanks to the efforts of the university leaders and their overall contribution to the development of the alma mater for the entire period of its existence, today we can only be proud of our graduates who have achieved high career achievements. Here are few inspiring examples – Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Marat Beketayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC Kazatomprom Askar Zhumagaliev, successful businessman Kenes Rakishev – they are all our alumni and graduated the school of KAZGUU».

It should be noted that many of the former students continue to support their university, acting as sponsors of the Corporate Fund Endowment KAZGUU. So, within the framework of the social project “Way forward” at the ceremony T. Narikbayev awarded educational grants to two freshmen, former inmates of “SOS Children’s Village Astana”, providing them with the right to free education at the university.

Also, this evening the students were congratulated by a welcomed guest – Erkesh Nurpeisov, honorable first rector of KAZGUU. He noted the importance of the development of legal processes in the country through training of qualified personnel in the field of jurisprudence.

As tradition demands, the new Themis KAZGUU – 2016 was elected at the ceremony. The winner of the high title became a student of 3rd year of the Higher School of Economics of KAZGUU Botagoz Kanasheva, a future financial expert.

The event was attended by deputies of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament, representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Culture and Sport, Astana akimat, the rectors of the capital’s universities, partners-heads of national and international companies of Astana, Kazakhstani pop stars, representatives of the leading mass media of Kazakhstan.

Dear students!

We are informing about the commencement of accepting applications for participation in the academic mobility program for the fall semester 2024-2025 academic year.

Undergraduate students who have covered at least 60 ECTS credits, as well as graduate and doctoral students.

Criteria:

GPA level – 2.5, for Erasmus+ — 3.0
English language level – at least B2 level

Application deadline: March 11, 2024

The application and documents must be submitted through the web version of Smart KAZGUU, and electronic copies should also be provided in room #213 (on a USB flash drive).

List of required documents:

student’s application form (download);
a copy of the passport;
transcript of academic record for the current year of study (Russian and English);
a document confirming the level of proficiency in a foreign language (if available);
completed application form (download);
written consent of the applicant’s parents (guardians, legal representatives) to participate in the academic mobility program (download).
letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or/and English (if available);
copies of certificates, diplomas, received for participation in the republican or international level events (if available);
copies of documents confirming the fact of belonging to the following categories: a family composition document to confirm the student’s large family status, a document verifying the student’s orphan or left without parental care status and a document confirming the student’s disability status.

Furthermore, kindly refer to the list of partner universities and available disciplines beforehand. It is essential to coordinate with your academic advisor regarding the selection of disciplines that align with your curriculum.

️As part of the project dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the opening of the Women’s Mentorship Club took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
⚡The goal of the Club is to support female students and staff at MNU in developing leadership qualities, increasing motivation, and strengthening belief in their own abilities and potential.

The School of Liberal Arts held the public lecture on “Fair Trade in Northern Kazakhstan in the XIX and Early XX Centuries” within the research project AP14871281 “The Role of Merchants in the

Transformation of Social and Cultural Space of Kazakhstan in the Second Half of XIX and Early XX Centuries”.

Speaker: teaching professor Lepuda Mukatayeva Karimovna.

The lector presented the materials obtained from the studies in public archives of Almaty, Astana, and Petropavlovsk.

A group of researchers from the Department of Liberal Studies is involved in this scientific project. The SLA held the offline lecture with an online broadcast.

The historians from Almaty, Astana, and Kostanay participated in the discussion.

Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan calls for foreign applicants, including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for full-time studying under Bachelor, Master and PhD educational programs.
