KAZGUU presented a lecture hall sponsored by the State of Kuwait

KAZGUU marked the beginning of school year with an opening of a lecture hall sponsored by the State of Kuwait. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Education of Kuwait, ambassadors of foreign states, official representatives of diplomatic missions, and the leadership, students and teachers of KAZGUU University.

Kuwait’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Al Faraj stressed Kazakhstan’s high role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, adding that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State of Kuwait started at the time Kazakhstan gained independence. He expressed confidence that the interaction between the two countries within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will continue and this become a common achievement.

In his turn, the Minister of Education of Kuwait, Dr. Mohammad Abdulatif Mohammad Al-Fares, noted that sponsoring the lecture hall demonstrates Kuwait’s desire to participate in the implementation of educational projects in Kazakhstan. “The well-established cooperation presents a great potential for development, supporting Kazakhstan’s leaders in the field of providing educational services as exemplified by KAZGUU University. We have identified KAZGUU as a strategic partner in the field of education, as it remains a leader in Kazakhstani’s education, acting as a non-governmental organisation that receives not development grants from the state budget. ”

Welcoming the guests, Marat Beketayev, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed his hope for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries, including through the implementation of projects in education.

“As a graduate of KAZGUU, I’m glad to be here. Classes in the newly opened lecture hall designed in the style of Kuwait will be a good motivation for university students in studying the culture of this country. And this, in turn, will strengthen the interaction of the two states, including the field of law enforcement, as most graduates of the University today are working in this field. ”

The total area of ​​Kuwait lecture hall is 168 square meters. It is the second largest room of all the recently renovated lecture halls at KAZGUU. The equipment, comfortable furniture, ultramodern interior design meet all the modern requirements.

The rector of KAZGUU University, Talgat Narikbayev, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Kuwait in Kazakhstan for their support of the students and assured the partners of the sincere intentions of friendship and cooperation in the future. He noted that one of the goals of the university is to teach students about the culture and traditions of different countries and peoples.

As part of the opening ceremony, the Minister of Education of Kuwait, Mohammad Abdulatif, was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of KAZGUU University. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kuwait in Kazakhstan Al-Faraj and the chief engineer of the lecture hall renovation project Emad Mukhtasib were awarded letters of appreciation for their contribution to the development of the University.

To date, 8 lecture halls have been sponsored by KAZGUU partners, including the Said Khury and Hasiba Sabaga  Hall, named after the founders of the international construction company Consolidated Contractors Company. The total floor space of ​​the renovated rooms is 857 sq. m. The total amount of investment in lecture hall renovations is over 90 million tenge ($ 277,000).
