Signing of the Memorandum of Association "League of Academic Integrity"

October 4, 2018 has become a date when Mr. Talgat Narikbayev, the M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University’s provost and Ms. Almagul M. Kanagatova, the Almaty Management University’s acting rector have signed a founding document of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions the “League of Academic Integrity”.
The Association is aimed to improve a quality of education by promoting principles of academic integrity. These principles are laid down by the Declaration on the creation of the League of Academic Integrity, which was signed by representatives of 24 higher education institutions.
Principles of Academic Integrity serve as a fundamental consolidation of the basic ideas and approaches to understanding and applying the Academic Integrity.
It affirm Academic Integrity as a foundation of a higher education institution (principle 1), regulate the creation of a favorable atmosphere for honest academic practice (principles 3 and 4) ensure comprehensibility and transparency of work on creating such conditions and lay the responsibility of the higher educational institution (principles 7,8,9) .
Principles:
Academic integrity is a key value of each member of the League, of its educational process and research.
Each member of the League ensures adherence to clear, fair and objective standards of Academic Integrity, citation rules and behavior.
Each member of the League is responsible for ensuring that plagiarism is compulsory for all written work, regardless of their nature, content and scope, submitted for academic and / or research purposes.
Each member of the League ensures the student’s responsibility for violating principles and standards of Academic Integrity.
Each member of the League places increased demands on students within its system of fair and objective assessment of learning outcomes.
Each member of the League provides an opportunity to complete their studies only to the best students.
Each member of the League is responsible for the quality of giving trainings, confirmed by his diploma.
Each member of the League ensures a high responsibility of the teacher as a mentor who instils the principles and Each member of the League recognizes that the promotion and protection of academic integrity is the result of the mutual efforts of all students and staff in educational organizations.standards of Academic Integrity, mutual respect and fairness.
Each member of the League recognizes that the promotion and protection of Academic Integrity is the result of the mutual efforts of all students and staff in educational organizations.
Each member of the League undertakes to faithfully fulfill all obligations imposed on him, including the basic principles of the League. He understands that he can be excluded from the Organization for violations of non-fulfillment of obligations under the Charter or League acts, as well as principles and standards of Academic Integrity, including the basic principles of the League.

Dear students!

We are informing about the commencement of accepting applications for participation in the academic mobility program for the fall semester 2024-2025 academic year.

Undergraduate students who have covered at least 60 ECTS credits, as well as graduate and doctoral students.

Criteria:

GPA level – 2.5, for Erasmus+ — 3.0
English language level – at least B2 level

The application and documents must be submitted through the web version of Smart KAZGUU, and electronic copies should also be provided in room #213 (on a USB flash drive).

List of required documents:

student’s application form (download);
a copy of the passport;
transcript of academic record for the current year of study (Russian and English);
a document confirming the level of proficiency in a foreign language (if available);
completed application form (download);
written consent of the applicant’s parents (guardians, legal representatives) to participate in the academic mobility program (download).
letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or/and English (if available);
copies of certificates, diplomas, received for participation in the republican or international level events (if available);
copies of documents confirming the fact of belonging to the following categories: a family composition document to confirm the student’s large family status, a document verifying the student’s orphan or left without parental care status and a document confirming the student’s disability status.

Furthermore, kindly refer to the list of partner universities and available disciplines beforehand. It is essential to coordinate with your academic advisor regarding the selection of disciplines that align with your curriculum.

️As part of the project dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the opening of the Women’s Mentorship Club took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
⚡The goal of the Club is to support female students and staff at MNU in developing leadership qualities, increasing motivation, and strengthening belief in their own abilities and potential.

The School of Liberal Arts held the public lecture on “Fair Trade in Northern Kazakhstan in the XIX and Early XX Centuries” within the research project AP14871281 “The Role of Merchants in the

Transformation of Social and Cultural Space of Kazakhstan in the Second Half of XIX and Early XX Centuries”.

Speaker: teaching professor Lepuda Mukatayeva Karimovna.

The lector presented the materials obtained from the studies in public archives of Almaty, Astana, and Petropavlovsk.

A group of researchers from the Department of Liberal Studies is involved in this scientific project. The SLA held the offline lecture with an online broadcast.

The historians from Almaty, Astana, and Kostanay participated in the discussion.
