KAZGUU scholarships for Uzbek pupils and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation in Tashkent

On December 5, Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, met with Aziz Abdukhakimov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Sherzod Shermatov, the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan at the Scopus Award 2019 ceremony in Tashkent.

The International Scopus Award is a global initiative by Elsevier company, aimed at encouraging scientists for their active work, maintaining the status of a scientist, and popularizing professional scientific activity among young researchers. This year the award has been held in Tashkent.

During his recent visit to Tashkent, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev stated that Kazakhstan’s leading universities will allocate 10 grants for students from Central Asian countries. In response to Elbasy’s words, Talgat Narikbayev announced that this year M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University will allocate 10 scholarships for undergraduate studies with free campus accommodation for graduates of Uzbek schools. The allocated scholarships will be distributed between Uzbek high school students by the State Inspection for Supervision of Quality in Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On the same day, Rakhim Khakimov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of Tashkent State University of Law, and Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of M.Narikbayev KAZGUU University, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The signing of the Memorandum is the result of KAZGUU work towards its internationalization.
