A graduate of KAZGUU University is appointed an Akim

Kuat Tumabayev, a 36-year-old graduate of KAZGUU has been appointed the Head of Ust-Kamenogorsk regional government. He graduated from the University in 2003, with a degree in Jurisprudence.

Mr. Tumabayev started his career in 2001 in the credit department of Alliance Bank JSC. Later, he has worked for the Ministry of Economics and Budgeting, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Commerce, and the Head of the Directorate of Economics and Budgeting of the East Kazakhstan Region. Since 15 January 2016, he has served as the Deputy Akim of the Region.

The management team and the staff of the University are happy to congratulate their former student on the new appointment and wish great success in his new job.
