Exhibition “Traditions and Contemporaneity of Tatars – the Polish Muslims”

On November 9, at KAZGUU University an exhibition “Traditions and Contemporaneity of Tatars – the Polish Muslims” took place. The event was organized within the framework of cooperation with the Embassy of Poland to Kazakhstan.

The exhibition was opened by the speeches of  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Kazakhstan H.E. Dr. Selim Khazbievich, People’s Artist of Tatarstan Kamil Mullashev and Vice-rector of KAZGUU Miras Daulenov.

After the exhibition, a seminar was held, where the history and life of Polish and Kazakh Tatars was discussed. The well-known Arabist professor Marek M. Dziekan, Dr. Arthur Konopacki, Head of the Tatar Women’s Council Yannat Nizamutdinova and professor of the Department of Religious Studies of the ENU named after L.N. Gumilev Ruzia Kamarova made their presentations.
