Job Fair for all university graduates in Astana is to become an annual tradition

KAZGUU University and Hilton Astana, in collaboration with Astana City Akimat, have held Job Fair 2018, which for the first time welcomed university graduates and undergraduates from all of the capital’s universities.
Astana Akim Aset Isekeshev indorsed KAZGUU and Hilton Astana’s joint initiative, which is part of the implementation of the policy of social responsibility, whose aim is to provide employment for the capital’s young people.
Akim noted that the Job Fair was extremely well organised and emphasised the need for such events on an annual basis, to bring together the city’s employers and university graduates.
Talgat Narikbaev, KAZGUU Rector, and Stephan Reiter, General Manager of Hilton Hotel Astana, expressed their gratitude to the representatives of the companies for their active participation and support for the Job Fair 2018 initiative and called on the partners to further strengthen cooperation.
The official opening was followed by the ‘The Best Employer-2018’ award ceremony. The program of the fair was very rich and included master classes, such as ‘Employment Lifehacks’ by the co-founder of Method Coding School Dagar Davlatov, and ‘Self-Made Career’; and an Internship Contest, where the winners got a certificate for a professional internship in a partner company.
In total, more than 600 students, graduates, undergraduates of Astana universities and over 100 leading national and international companies-employers, and representatives of various sectors of the economy, took part in the event.
Representatives of state bodies and the private sector held interviews with the graduates at the open platform.  These included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, the largest national and international companies: Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kazmunaigas JSC, Air Astana JSC, Damu Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development, Astana International Financial Centre, Bayterek Development JSC, GRATA Law Firm, McKinsey & Company, Deloitte, KPMG and others.
According to experts, the Job Fair format, is one of the most effective and already proven instruments of interaction between all participants of the labour market in Kazakhstan.  A number of other major social responsibility events are planned to be held, from now on, on an annual basis.
