The Week of South African

On April 22 – 26, 2019, M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University will host the South African Week!
M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University is actively cooperating with the Embassy of South Africa in Kazakhstan and hopes that this week will allow students and staff to learn more about this amazing country and its outstanding people!

Some facts about South Africa:
The population of South Africa is about 50 million people. The country has 11 official languages, including English, Zulu, Afrikaans and others.
It is worth saying that South Africa is a region with the world tourism attractions. The African wildlife sanctuaries attract by its unusual colors and diversity of wildlife that are a part of the World Cultural heritage.

Agenda for the Week:
1. Books’ Exhibition on cultural heritage and history of South Africa, which will be held at Maxut S. Narikbayev library.
2. Paintings’ Exhibition (in the hall on the 2nd floor)
3. Online contest on knowledge of facts about the history and culture of South Africa. According to the results of the competition winners will be announced and awarded with prizes. (Please, follow the news in social networks).

Also during the week you can plunge into the atmosphere and get acquainted with the musical heritage of South Africa.

The celebration of Freedom Day and 25 Years since the Inauguration of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the First President of Democratic South Africa will be held in the Conference Hall of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 11:00 to 13:00 on April 26, 2019.

Dear students!

We are informing about the commencement of accepting applications for participation in the academic mobility program for the fall semester 2024-2025 academic year.

Undergraduate students who have covered at least 60 ECTS credits, as well as graduate and doctoral students.

Criteria:

GPA level – 2.5, for Erasmus+ — 3.0
English language level – at least B2 level

Application deadline: March 11, 2024

The application and documents must be submitted through the web version of Smart KAZGUU, and electronic copies should also be provided in room #213 (on a USB flash drive).

List of required documents:

student’s application form (download);
a copy of the passport;
transcript of academic record for the current year of study (Russian and English);
a document confirming the level of proficiency in a foreign language (if available);
completed application form (download);
written consent of the applicant’s parents (guardians, legal representatives) to participate in the academic mobility program (download).
letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or/and English (if available);
copies of certificates, diplomas, received for participation in the republican or international level events (if available);
copies of documents confirming the fact of belonging to the following categories: a family composition document to confirm the student’s large family status, a document verifying the student’s orphan or left without parental care status and a document confirming the student’s disability status.

Furthermore, kindly refer to the list of partner universities and available disciplines beforehand. It is essential to coordinate with your academic advisor regarding the selection of disciplines that align with your curriculum.

️As part of the project dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the opening of the Women’s Mentorship Club took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
⚡The goal of the Club is to support female students and staff at MNU in developing leadership qualities, increasing motivation, and strengthening belief in their own abilities and potential.

The School of Liberal Arts held the public lecture on “Fair Trade in Northern Kazakhstan in the XIX and Early XX Centuries” within the research project AP14871281 “The Role of Merchants in the

Transformation of Social and Cultural Space of Kazakhstan in the Second Half of XIX and Early XX Centuries”.

Speaker: teaching professor Lepuda Mukatayeva Karimovna.

The lector presented the materials obtained from the studies in public archives of Almaty, Astana, and Petropavlovsk.

A group of researchers from the Department of Liberal Studies is involved in this scientific project. The SLA held the offline lecture with an online broadcast.

The historians from Almaty, Astana, and Kostanay participated in the discussion.

Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan calls for foreign applicants, including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for full-time studying under Bachelor, Master and PhD educational programs.
