AIFC Academy of Law designates KAZGUU University as Strategic Knowledge Partner

We are pleased to announce that AIFC Academy of Law has designated M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University (KAZGUU) as a Strategic Knowledge Partner. KAZGUU has been a valued academic partner since the inception of the AIFC Academy of Law, as demonstrated in several successful collaborative initiatives between our organizations, including:

✔️ TOLES Legal English program designed non-native English speaking legal professionals
✔️ Cross-training KAZGUU’s faculty in AIFC law & practice, and common law teaching methodologies
✔️ Participation of KAZGUU students in the Academy of Law’s International Internship Programme
✔️ Participation of KAZGUU students and faculty in AIFC Foundations and Certificate short courses

The parties have agreed to develop common law and practical skills courses for inclusion in KAZGUU’s degree programmes.

We are soliciting academic research papers and articles from KAZGUU’s faculty and students for distribution in the Academy’s DISCOURSE online channel

The Academy of Law looks forward to a long and mutually rewarding collaboration with a view toward ongoing legal system and professional competencies development in Kazakhstan and across the CIS.

Dear students!

We are informing about the commencement of accepting applications for participation in the academic mobility program for the fall semester 2024-2025 academic year.

Undergraduate students who have covered at least 60 ECTS credits, as well as graduate and doctoral students.

Criteria:

GPA level – 2.5, for Erasmus+ — 3.0
English language level – at least B2 level

Application deadline: March 11, 2024

The application and documents must be submitted through the web version of Smart KAZGUU, and electronic copies should also be provided in room #213 (on a USB flash drive).

List of required documents:

student’s application form (download);
a copy of the passport;
transcript of academic record for the current year of study (Russian and English);
a document confirming the level of proficiency in a foreign language (if available);
completed application form (download);
written consent of the applicant’s parents (guardians, legal representatives) to participate in the academic mobility program (download).
letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or/and English (if available);
copies of certificates, diplomas, received for participation in the republican or international level events (if available);
copies of documents confirming the fact of belonging to the following categories: a family composition document to confirm the student’s large family status, a document verifying the student’s orphan or left without parental care status and a document confirming the student’s disability status.

Furthermore, kindly refer to the list of partner universities and available disciplines beforehand. It is essential to coordinate with your academic advisor regarding the selection of disciplines that align with your curriculum.

️As part of the project dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the opening of the Women’s Mentorship Club took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
⚡The goal of the Club is to support female students and staff at MNU in developing leadership qualities, increasing motivation, and strengthening belief in their own abilities and potential.

The School of Liberal Arts held the public lecture on “Fair Trade in Northern Kazakhstan in the XIX and Early XX Centuries” within the research project AP14871281 “The Role of Merchants in the

Transformation of Social and Cultural Space of Kazakhstan in the Second Half of XIX and Early XX Centuries”.

Speaker: teaching professor Lepuda Mukatayeva Karimovna.

The lector presented the materials obtained from the studies in public archives of Almaty, Astana, and Petropavlovsk.

A group of researchers from the Department of Liberal Studies is involved in this scientific project. The SLA held the offline lecture with an online broadcast.

The historians from Almaty, Astana, and Kostanay participated in the discussion.

Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan calls for foreign applicants, including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for full-time studying under Bachelor, Master and PhD educational programs.
